Kuala Lumpur, August 22, 2002 - KLIA Transit tickets offered to Malaysians for a mere RM10.00 return reached the pivotal 2,500 mark in sales last Sunday (August 18). The special offer, held in conjunction with the 45th Merdeka Celebrations at the “KLIA Ekspres Merdeka Carnival” organized by EXPRESS RAIL LINK Sdn. Bhd.’s (ERL), is available to the public every weekend (Saturdays and Sundays) from now until September 8, 2002. A larger crowd is anticipated by ERL for the next three weekends.

In addition to the Merdeka offer, a 100 families will also get the opportunity to win KLIA Ekspres (5 return tickets for the KLIA Ekspres each) tickets from the quiz sessions hosted by popular presenter Gary Thanasan every Sunday for the duration of the Carnival. The quiz session is held every top of the hour for 15 minutes per session from 11.00 a.m. until 8.00 p.m.

To win exciting prizes like a trip to exotic Mauritius and other fantastic prizes, the “KLIA Ekspres Merdeka Carnival Contest” is accessible to those who purchase items at the Kuala Lumpur City Air Terminal (KL CAT) retail outlets and at Eraman Malaysia at a minimum requirement value of RM10.00.

ERL is currently conducting registration for all Malaysians who wish to participate in another of ERL’s exciting event for Merdeka, the “KLIA Ekspres Merdeka Race”. The race, that takes place aboard the KLIA Transit, KL City Air Terminal and KLIA on August 31 2002, tests the mental abilities of its participants for precision in observation and data accumulation.
