The Race was divided into three identical sessions throughout the day, and each session registered 200 participants who were judged on the speed and accuracy of their answers. Prizes were varied and consumer-geared, consisting of cash rewards, holidays at 5-star accommodations, high-end luggage carriers, mobile phone pre-paid packages and vouchers for books, jewels, fine dining and beverages.

Additional prizes were awarded to the 'Best Dressed Merdeka Participant', consolation and lucky draw winners. The total prize tally was at RM.. (please insert).

This pioneer event received coverage from the national press and radio broadcast, which resulted in nationwide publicity and heightened awareness as well as the formation of a substructure for future events.
