KLIA Shopping Welcomes you to 'Discover Malaysia'


You need not travel far to 'Discover Malaysia' this festive season, as KLIA, riding on the successful 'Festivals of Malaysia' which ended on January 2004, launches its fourth phase of the campaign themed 'Discover Malaysia'.

The campaign will run for four months from November 1st 2004 to February 28th 2005 will welcome travelers and shoppers alike with a new look and feel to the airport with the introduction of fresh graphics, banners and bunting capturing the essence, beauty and the spirit of travel and discovery of some of the most awe inspiring places in Malaysia.

The theme 'Discover Malaysia' is extremely apt for the airport to endorse as KLIA has become one of the world's leading transport hubs through its vast networks made possible by the 47 international airlines operating at the airport.

The 'Discover Malaysia' campaign launched on November 2nd 2004 was officiated by the Chairman of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, Y. Bhg Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Aris Othman. Soothing Nasyid performance was presented beautifully by Raihan and live ghazal music filled the hustle and bustle of the ongoing activities during the launch. Invited guests were greeted with an array of mouthwatering traditional Malay cuisine catered by The Pan Pacific KLIA for the breaking of the Ramadhan Fast. The highlight and main attraction of the entire campaign was the unveiling of eight 50 gram Gold Wafers, air tickets to various Malaysian destinations and the grand prize - the Mercedes Benz C180 Kompressor, generously sponsored by MasterCard.

The three contests that will run throughout the campaign are 'Shop, Click and Win', 'Shop and Unlock The Chest' and 'Mercedes Benz C180 K Grand Shopping Bonanza'. During his speech at the launch, the Chairman said, "Malaysia is truly a melting pot of culture and races and it is constantly increasing in diversity - where one would realize how vibrantly harmonious the relationship is between its people of different race and cultural background. Appropriately enough, KLIA's shopping campaign would encourage visitors to experience the magic of Malaysia which is truly Asia."

The 'Shop, Click and Win', an interactive software game contest will be open to all customers with proof of purchase amounting to RM250.00, in a single receipt or receipts accumulated in one day. Prizes that are up for grabs include air tickets to various appealing destinations throughout Malaysia, discount vouchers of retail outlets at KLIA local handcrafts, international retail brands (Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, Salvatore Ferragamo), travel related books & magazines, discounted hotel vouches and a host of other surprise gifts.

'Shop and Unlock The Chest' will be open to passengers with proof of purchase amounting to RM450.00. Here the passenger if in selecting the magic key to the chest, from a revolving container with 200 keys, wins a 50 gram Gold Wafer.

The 'Mercedes Benz C180K Grand Shopping Bonanza' will be open to passengers with proof of purchase amounting to RM500, in a single receipt or receipts accumulated in one day. Customers participating in the Grand Lucky Draw will be asked to fill in an entry form, answer two simple questions and complete the slogan, "I like shopping in KLIA because....." in not more than 15 words. The Final Draw will take place at a later date to be confirmed by KLIA Shopping Malaysia after the end of the campaign (28th February 2005).
